1999 Antonio Lopez Loto 15 Profesional Classical Acoustic Guitar Spruce & Rosewood w/ Case

1999 Antonio Lopez Loto 15 Profesional Classical Acoustic Guitar Spruce & Rosewood w/ Case

Up for sale, a 1999 Antonio Lopez Loto 15 Profesional in excellent, 100% original condition, complete with a hardshell case. The little-known Antonio Lopez brand was an alternative line from legendary Spanish luthier Paulino Bernabe Sr., easily among the finest luthiers of the 20th century, whose instruments were played by luminaries including Narciso Yepes, Johanna Beisteiner and Alexandre Lagoya. The Antonio Lopez instruments weren’t actually produced in Bernabe’s Madrid workshop (despite the Madrid postal code on the label); they were instead crafted by hand in Valencia, to exacting spec dictated by Bernabe Sr. himself. Sparingly little information is otherwise known about the Lopez brand, including whether or not there was a real person named Antonio Lopez, but these premium handcrafted instruments feature undeniably top-notch construction and solid tonewoods throughout.

This Professional Loto 15 features a fan-braced solid spruce top, Indian rosewood back/sides, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard. Tonally, this guitar is warm and sweet, with an airy openness and a dark, rich expressive quality very much in-line with what one would expect from any ā€œSpanish soundā€ classical guitar (including those made by Bernabe himself). The trebles are vocal and smooth, with a complex midrange character, and low strings that are robust and immediate. This Antonio Lopez Loto 15 Profesional weighs 3lbs 12oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with normal tension strings and optimal classic action.
