1968 Martin D-28 VIntage Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Brazilian Rosewood w/ Case
Produced early in ā68, this Martin features the classic tonewood combination of an X-braced Sitka spruce top, bookmatched Brazilian rosewood back and sides, original small maple bridge plate, mahogany neck, and ebony fingerboard and bridge. Bold and detailed, this D-28 lives up to its hallowed tonewoods, with all the piano-like clarity and string-to-string balance synonymous with Nazareth, PAās finest output. This D-28 has more boom and kick in the bass register than many produced in the decade prior, offering a muscular sound with tons of projection. The plain strings are round-sounding with a punchy quality and a high treble sparkle, while the midrange is rich and textured. The Fishman active undersaddle pickup has also been installed for when this D-28's ample acoustic properties warrant further amplification. Weighing 4lbs 12oz, this D-28 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mikeās Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

Cosmetic wear is limited to light buckle scuffing and pick wear across the soundhole, with various minor dings and finish scratches consistent with decades of careful use. There is a small repair in the mahogany on the treble side of the neck carve where a shallow piece of new mahogany has been inlaid as pictured in the included close-up image, and the neck profile has been oversprayed.
A circa 1970s black molded Martin hardshell case is included.
