1968 Gibson B-25 Vintage Acoustic Guitar w/ Case, LG-3

1968 Gibson B-25 Vintage Acoustic Guitar w/ Case, LG-3

Up for sale, a 1968 Gibson B-25 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a vintage chipboard case. The successor of the LG-3 (and by association the same-sized but lesser-priced LG-2), the B-25 features a slope shoulder body design with a 14 7/16ā€œ lower bout width and X-braced construction. Short of purchasing a J-45 and heading into upscale dreadnought territory, the B-25 was one of Gibson’s highest grade acoustics in ā€˜68, with a spruce top, Honduran mahogany back/sides, one-piece mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard.

A modestly-sized cannon with excellent projection, this B-25 has a mellow, woody character when strummed lightly, offering more sparkle and cut when you dig in with a flatpick. Trebles are sweet and punchy, the midrange is complex, and the bass response has excellent breadth and presence without being boomy or washed out. This B-25 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The gloss Cherry Sunburst nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, exhibiting broad lacquer checking, some scuffing on the top edge at the bass-side lower bout, faint buckle worming on the back, and a few minor dings on the body as a whole. The smooth nitro gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

A vintage chipboard case is included; the stitching on the back of the case is separating slightly at the headstock end.
