1968 Epiphone Frontier FT-110N Vintage Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Gibson-Made Kalamazoo w/ Case

Up for sale, a 1968 Epiphone Frontier FT-110N in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This rare, upscale Ephiphone was crafted at Gibson’s Kalamazoo, MI factory; as the Texan was analogous to the J-45 in Gibson’s lineup, the Frontier was Epiphone’s spin on the top tier Dove platform, featuring a square-shouldered dreadnought design.

Tonewoods include an X-braced Sitka spruce top, solid maple back and sides, mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard. Tonally, this Frontier is bold and clear, with the sparkling articulation of maple readily apparent: there’s plenty of power and kick on tap, with a certain presence and punchiness via the longer 25 1/2ā€œ scale. Beyond its projection capabilities, this Frontier is detailed and warm, a true best-of-both-worlds player, rewarding both as a strummer and a fingerpicker. Weighing 4lbs 15oz, this Frontier FT-110N has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Mahogany
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .825ā€ 1st fret, .975ā€ 9th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, notched block inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 Ā½ā€
-Nut: 1 9/16ā€
-Tuners: Kluson Deluxe double-line
-Serialization: Six-digit stamp dates to ā€˜68

Body Specs:

-Wood: Sitka spruce, maple
-Bracing: X
-Bridge: Belly down rosewood, adjustable rosewood saddle
-Plastics: Tortoise pickguard with Epsilon ā€œEā€ badge
-Marquetry: Multi-ply purfling and soundhole rosette
-Label: Serialized, Kalamazoo, MI, blue rectangle

The gloss Natural nitro lacquer finish has ambered gently, exhibiting broad checking, and there is limited strap-related wear adjacent to the lower strap button and on the back central to the lower bout. A very well-kept, crack-free example, there are just a couple small dings on the body and a few shallow nicks in the nitro gloss along the neck profile.

A hardshell case is included.
