1984 Epiphone Casino Vintage Guitar Sunburst Short Headstock '62-Spec, Near-Mint w/ Case, Japan Matsumoku

1984 Epiphone Casino Vintage Guitar Sunburst Short Headstock '62-Spec, Near-Mint w/ Case, Japan Matsumoku

Up for sale, a 1984 Epiphone Casino in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Produced in Japan at the Matsumoku factory, this Casino is a virtually undocumented variant with a short ā€˜62-spec headstock shape.

This guitar's fully hollow all-maple body has an articulate and airy tone, capturing both the clear note attack of maple as a tonewood and the warmth of the hollow construction. The Maxon-made P-90 pickups deliver plenty of midrange bark, with a glassy, percussive quality and broad low end growl. Lightweight at 6lbs 13oz, this Casino has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple (three-piece)
-Shape: Slender-to-chunky C, measuring .795ā€ 1st fret, .975ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, pearloid parallelogram inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4"
-Nut Width: 1 11/16", bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style
-Serialization: 4-prefix (1984)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: P-90 x2 (Maxon-made)

-Hardware: ABR-1 bridge, trapeze tailpiece, ā€œdogearā€ pickup covers
-Plastics: Reflector cap knobs (replacement), three-ply white pickguard with ā€œEā€ epsilon logo

The gloss Sunburst finish highlights some subtle, tight birdseye figuring in the maple, and cosmetic wear is limited to a bit of shallow buckle worming central to the back and a few small dings along the lower bout perimeter. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
