1980 Epiphone Casino Vintage Guitar Sunburst Near-Mint w/ Case, Matsumoku

1980 Epiphone Casino Vintage Guitar Sunburst Near-Mint w/ Case, Matsumoku

Up for sale, a 1980 Epiphone Casino in showroom-clean, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Produced in Japan at the Matsumoku factory, this Casino is an uncommon and notably early Epiphone reissue produced decades before the ā€œElitistā€ line was introduced.

This guitar's fully hollow all-maple body has an articulate and airy tone, capturing both the clear note attack of maple as a tonewood and the warmth of the hollow construction. The Maxon-made P-90 pickups deliver plenty of midrange bark, with a glassy, percussive quality and broad low end growl. Featherweight at 6lbs 11oz, this Casino has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple (three-piece)
-Shape: Very slender C, measuring .750ā€ 1st fret, .945ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, pearloid parallelogram inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4"
-Nut: 1 9/16", bone
-Tuners: ā€œEā€ Epsilon
-Serialization: 0-prefix (1980)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: P-90 x2 (Maxon)

-Hardware: Tune-o-matic bridge and trapeze tailpiece (chrome-plated), dogear pickup covers (nickel-plated)
-Plastics: Gold reflector cap knobs, cream switch tip
-Label: Blue rectangle, bass-side F hole

The gloss Sunburst finish highlights tight birdseye figuring in the maple, with just a few minor finish scratches on the body. This is easily one of the cleanest Matsumoku-made Casinos to ever come through Guitar Bar. The gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

The original hardshell case is included.
