1984 Epiphone Casino Vintage Guitar Natural, 1 11/16" Nut, Japan Matsumoku Pre-Elitist

1984 Epiphone Casino Vintage Guitar Natural, 1 11/16" Nut, Japan Matsumoku Pre-Elitist

Up for sale, a 1984 Epiphone Casino in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Produced in Japan at the Matsumoku factory, this Casino is an uncommon and early Epiphone reissue produced decades before the ā€œElitistā€ line was introduced and notable for its full 1 11/16" nut width (a surprisingly uncommon feature on many Casino reissues).

This guitar's fully hollow all-maple body has an articulate and airy tone, capturing both the clear note attack of maple as a tonewood and the warmth of the hollow construction. The Maxon-made P-90 pickups deliver plenty of midrange bark, with a glassy, percussive quality and broad low end growl. Lightweight at 6lbs 15oz, this Casino has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple (three-piece)
-Shape: Slender-to-chunky C, measuring .775ā€ 1st fret, .999ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, pearloid parallelogram inlay
-Frets: Medium jumbo, faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-9
-Scale Length: 24 3/4"
-Nut Width: 1 11/16", bone
-Tuners: ā€œEā€ Epsilon-stamped, chrome-plated
-Serialization: 4-prefix (1984)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Pickups: P-90 x2 (Maxon-made)
-Electronics: Volume x2, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: ABR-1 bridge, trapeze tailpiece, dogear pickup covers
-Plastics: Gold reflector cap knobs
-Label: Bass-side F hole

The gloss Natural finish highlights birdseye figuring in the maple, particularly prominent on the back, and cosmetic wear is limited to a cluster of light finish scratches central to the back (well short of ā€œbuckle rashā€). The smooth gloss on the neck profile is flawless.

The original Epiphone-branded padded gigbag is included.
