1966 Fender Stratocaster Vintage Electric Guitar Sonic Blue w/ Case

Up for sale, a 1966 Fender Stratocaster in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. Featuring a body-only refinish and light relic by Riggio Custom Guitars in Sonic Blue nitro lacquer, this Stratocaster retains its original finish on the neck and headstock, with all its original electronics, plastics, and hardware (save for the vibrato arm).

Weighing 7lbs 7oz, this alder-bodied Strat has a snappy natural resonance and acoustic bark, providing an ideal platform for the pickup trio. The gray bobbin pickups all retain their original windings, and via the original three-way pickup selector the bridge pickup has a sparkling spank and accentuated upper midrange, while the middle pickup is dry and focused with a clear chop that’s great for chording. The neck pickup is round and potent, offering both a woody cut and a velvety smooth quality. This Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with fresh 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, full shoulders, measuring .860ā€ 1st fret, .890ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Brazilian rosewood, 7 1/4ā€ radius, pearloid dot inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo (refret), pristine
-Scale Length: 25 1/2ā€
-Nut: 1.650ā€, bone (modern)
-Tuners: Kluson Deluxe double-line
-Factory Markings: November, 1965 neck heel date stamp

Body Specs:

-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Gray bobbin single coil x3, Bridge: 5.95k ohms, Middle: 6.25k, Neck: 6.05k (bobbins pencil dated to January, 1966)
-Harness: Stackpole pots date to the 32nd week of '65, ceramic tone cap
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo (replacement arm), jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply pickguard, white pickup covers/knobs with greened text

The body features a professional refinish in Sonic Blue nitro lacquer, courtesy of Riggio Custom Guitars, along with a light relic, consisting of tight horizontal checking across the body and a few small marks of simulated wear. The body has lost a fraction of its depth decades ago, with the forward edge of the tremolo claw and springs (not the block) fractionally proud of the back of the body. The original ambered lacquer is intact on the neck profile and headstock, which retains the stock ā€œtransitionā€ waterslide decal. The lacquer on the profile is a smooth semi gloss with light figuring and subtle palm wear on the shoulders of the carve.

A modern molded hardshell case is included; one of the latches is non-functional.
