1965 Rickenbacker Combo 425 Jetglo Vintage Guitar, Near-Mint w/ Case, George Harrison

Up for sale, a 1965 Rickenbacker Combo 425 in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. The Combo 425 is best associated with George Harrison, who acquired one while visiting his sister in Illinois in 1963 and used it extensively on early Beatles recordings and television appearances. And while Fireglo-finished versions of the Combo 425 are relatively common, a Jetglo-finished example like Harrison’s is notably rarer.

Truly a no-frills tone machine, this Combo 425 features a ā€œCresting Waveā€ body shape, centrally-located Toaster Top single coil pickup, and a hardtail bridge with compensated aluminum saddle. The maple neck-through construction and maple body wings ensure this guitar has a lively, chiming acoustic response, providing an ideal platform for the Toaster Top pickup. Plugged in, this 425 delivers quintessential Ric jangle and sparkle, with exceptional clarity and a sweet, treble-centric percussive cut. This Combo 425 is featherweight at 6lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
