1965 Fender Jaguar Vintage Offset Guitar Sunburst w/ Case
With an alder body, this Jaguar has a particularly bold acoustic bark with plenty of natural low end. The original pair of gray bobbin single coil pickups feature staggered alnico pole pieces: the bridge pickup has a glassy, punchy sound with a chewy spank, while the neck is quite thick and woody. Each pickup position is distinct, and these tones are further broadened by the Low Cut two-way toggle and Rhythm Circuit, making the signal notably brighter and fatter/darker, respectively. This Jaguar weighs 7lbs 15oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mikeās Guitar Bar with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
Wood: Maple
Shape: Slender C, more heft in upper registers, measuring .795ā 1st fret, .965ā 12th fret
Fretboard: Brazilian rosewood, 7 1/4ā radius, pearloid dot inlay
Frets: Slender, leveled/crowned, no wear
Scale Length: 24ā
Nut: 1 5/8ā (āBā width)
Tuners: Kluson Deluxe double line
Serialization: L-prefix
Factory Markings: March, 1965 date stamp on neck heel
Body Specs:
Wood: Alder
Pickups: Gray bobbin single coil x2 (bridge pickup bobbin dated 4-20-65)
Harness: Modern CTS pots (replacement)
Hardware: Bridge with threaded saddles, vibrato, flip-up string mute (fresh foam), control plates
Plastics: Four-ply wide-bevel nitrate tortoise pickguard (modern, Lavaguards), white pickup covers, pointer knobs
The gloss Sunburst nitro lacquer finish is 100% original with no touch-up or overspray, with a vibrant central red band. There is some minor finish chipping along the body perimeter, a bit of shallow buckle wear on the upper bout, and some additional minor marks consistent with use. The neck profile has a worn-in, easy-playing feel, with palm wear through to the maple along much of the neck.
A modern G&G Deluxe black tolex hardshell case is included.
