2012 Fender '62 Stratocaster ST62/ASH/MH Transparent Blue + Headstock, Near-Mint, Japan MIJ

Up for sale, a 2012 Fender Stratocaster ā€˜62 vintage reissue model ST62/ASH/MH in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. This rare ā€œMade in Japanā€ Stratocaster features a gloss Transparent Blue finish over an ash body, complete with matching headstock; this particular Strat has been augmented with the entire white pickguard and electronics from a 1987 Fender Japan ST62.

Lightweight at 7lbs 5oz, this Stratocaster offers plenty of note attack, sweet sustain and layered midrange detail. The trio of single coil pickups feature Alnico magnet construction, and these pickups deliver a bevy of classic Strat tonalities: the neck is round and bell-like, and the bridge pickup provides sparkling cut, with thinned-out cut in the "in-between" positions on the five-way switch. This ST62/ASH/MH has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .830ā€ 1st fret, .915ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, 22-fret, modern 9 1/2ā€œ radius
-Frets: Medium, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2ā€
-Nut: 1.650ā€ (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: ā€œMade in Japan,ā€ JD12-prefix

Body Specs:

-Wood: Ash
-Pickups: ST-Vintage single coil x3 (replacement)
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Harness: Full-size Japanese pots dating to October, 1986 and February, 1987 (replacement)
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply white pickguard (replacement), gently aged knobs/pickup covers

The gloss Transparent Blue finish highlights the grain of the ash body. Cosmetic wear is limited to one small finish chip adjacent to the neck pocket on the top treble-side, a couple tiny nicks on the back, and a few faint finish scratches in the clear coat. The gloss finish on the neck profile is flawless.

A Fender-branded gigbag is included.
