1999 Fender Telecaster ‘52 Vintage Reissue TL52-65 Butterscotch w/ V Neck, Japan CIJ

Up for sale, a 1999 Fender Telecaster ‘52 vintage reissue model TL52-65 in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. This “Crafted in Japan” Telecaster was made for the Japanese domestic market and is uncommon outside of its country of origin.

Tonewoods include a light weight ash body and a one-piece maple neck with a V-shaped profile carve, and this Tele weighs 7lbs 8oz. The vintage-spec single coil pickups deliver the iconic tones of the first “Blackguard” Telecasters, with sinewy twang at the bridge and gutsy, smooth chop at the neck. This Telecaster TL52-65 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Soft V, measuring .895” 1st fret, .990” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, 7 Œ” vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 œ”
-Nut: 1.650” (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: “Crafted in Japan” script, O-prefix

Body Specs:

-Wood: Light Weight Ash
-Pickups: TL-Vintage single coil x2
-Hardware: “Pat. Pend” bridge, brass barrel saddles (replacement), dome-top knurled knobs
-Plastics: Five-screw “Blackguard”-style matte black pickguard, ‘50s-spec switch tip

The gloss Vintage Natural finish highlights subtle bearclaw figuring in the ash on top, with just a few minor dings along the lower bout perimeter, particularly near the output jack. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.

A modern Fender gigbag is included.
