1999 Fender Jaguar ‘62 Vintage Reissue JG66-85 Sunburst, Near-Mint w/ Case, Japan CIJ

Up for sale, a 1999 Fender Jaguar ‘62 vintage reissue model JG66-85 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. A discontinued model, this "Crafted In Japan" Fender was made for the Japanese domestic market, uncommon outside its country of origin.

Acoustically, this alder-bodied Jaguar offers a clear, ringing voice which translates well through the original pair of flat pole piece alnico magnet single coils. For surfy snap and twang, it's hard to beat the Jaguar, a model adopted by a huge range of genres for its cutting Fender tone and easy playability. With a percussive clarity and snarl in the bridge position and warmer, darker tonalities at the neck, there's a surprisingly broad range of tones available on the Jaguar, a range further enhanced by the Rhythm Circuit on the bass-side body horn (for even darker tones) and a high pass filter switch on the hexagonal switch plate (for more thinned out, treble-centric sizzle). This Jaguar JG66-85 weighs 8lbs 5oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .810” 1st fret, .915” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 24"
-Nut Width: 1.650" (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: "Crafted in Japan” script, O-prefix

Body Specs:

-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: JG-Single single coil x2
-Controls: Volume x2,Tone x2 (Rhythm/Lead Circuits), Pickup On/Off x2 and Low Cut switch
-Hardware: Bridge with spiral (threaded) saddles, Pat. # Vibrato
-Plastics: Four-ply “tomato soup” tortoise pickguard, white pickup covers, pointer knobs

This is a well-kept example, with just a few minor nicks in the gloss three-tone Sunburst finish on top and back. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.

A Fender hardshell case is included.

***We are dealers for the Mastery bridge (M2 and M10), OMV-P Offset Vibrato, and Lollar pickups, any or all of which can be installed prior to shipment for an additional charge***
