1999 Fender Jaguar '62 Vintage Reissue JG66-85 Candy Apple Red w/ Mastery Bridge + Vibrato & Lollar Pickups, Japan CIJ
Up for sale, a 1999 Fender Jaguar '62 vintage reissue model JG66-85 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Uncommon outside its country of origin, this discontinued âCrafted in Japanâ model was made for the Japanese domestic market, featuring a gloss custom color Candy Apple Red finish with matching headstock. This Jaguar has been upgraded with a Mastery M2 bridge, Mastery OMV vibrato, and a pair of Lollar pickups.
The traditional tonewood complement comprises an alder body with a maple neck capped by a rosewood fretboard, delivering a clear, balanced natural acoustic tone. Plugged in, this Jag delivers the goods via the upgraded Lollar Jaguar pickups. These celebrated boutique single coils are faithful to circa 1962-63 Jaguar pickup design, with black fiber bobbins, flush-mounted Alnico pole pieces, and cloth-covered leads. A bit rounder and fuller-sounding than some current Fender Jaguar pickup winds, these single coils also have Lollar's signature detail and glassy treble. Engage the Rhythm Circuit on the guitar's lower body horn for darker, meatier tones, or flip the "strangle" switch in the Lead Circuit for thinner tic-tac sounds. This Jaguar JG66-85 weighs 8lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar, where we specialize in Fender Offset instruments, with 11-49 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .840â 1st fret, .950â 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, vintage-spec 7 1/4" radius
-Frets: Slender, faint wear beneath the G and B strings on frets 1-7
-Scale Length: 24"
-Nut Width: 1.650" (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: "Crafted in Japan,â script P-prefix
-Factory Markings: Model stamp on neck heel
Body Specs:
-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Lollar Jaguar single coil x2 (upgraded)
-Controls: Volume/Tone x2 (Lead & Rhythm Circuits), Pickup On/Off x2 and Low Cut switch
-Hardware: Mastery M2 bridge & OMV vibrato (upgraded)
-Plastics: Four-ply red tortoise pickguard (upgraded), gently aged pickup covers, pointer knobs
The gloss Candy Apple Red finish shows light buckle scuffing on the treble-side of the back, a few chips on the body perimeter, minor checking at the corners of the neck pocket, and some minor dings and finish scratches. The ambered gloss on the neck profile has just a few shallow marks.
A Fender-branded gigbag is included.
