1998 Fender Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Stratocaster Black, Near-Mint w/ Case & Hangtags

1998 Fender Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Stratocaster Black, Near-Mint w/ Case & Hangtags

Up for sale, a 1998 Fender Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Stratocaster in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and hangtags. Only produced from 1998-2001, the Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Strat is perfect for a right-handed player looking to capture Jimi’s signature “inverted” tone, featuring a right-handed body with a special left-handed neck (reverse headstock) and reverse-staggered Vintage ‘69 single coil pickups.

Traditional tonewoods include an alder body and a maple neck with a maple cap fretboard, and this Voodoo Stratocaster weighs 7lbs 7oz. The Vintage ‘69 single coils have reverse-staggered pole pieces, recreating the unique configuration achieved by Hendrix when he flipped a right-handed guitar upside-down. This inversion has several dramatic effects on overall tone: the bass strings are taut and slightly brighter, while the treble strings have a touch more warmth and smoothness. This unique tone is most dramatic at the bridge pickup, as the flipped slant of that single coil results in a sound with a great deal more treble bloom and breadth. This Jimi Hendrix Voodoo Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
