1992 PGM Moon ST-225B S-Style Superstrat Ash & Ebony w/ Lacquer Finish, Bartolini, Case & Tags
Up for sale, a 1992 PGM Moon ST-225B in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case and factory documentation. A boutique Japanese brand, this ST-225B is a very rare, upper-tiered model that stands toe to toe with the custom shop output of the finest modern boutique S-Style builts, featuring a trio of Bartolini 3S pickups, a high gloss Natural lacquer finish, and premium tonewoods including a two-piece swamp ash body and an maple neck capped with a slab 22 fret ebony fingerboard.
Weighing 8lbs 3oz, the natural acoustic tone is detailed, rich and bold, extremely lively and responsive to picking dynamics. The trio of passive Bartolini 3S pickups are rich and glassy, with a very full and smooth midrange. Thereās plenty of spanky cut at the bridge and girth at the neck, and the push/pull "power tap" at the Volume knob cuts the number of coil windings in half for a more vintage, Strat-esque tone. Additionally, the push/pull control at the Tone knob engages the bridge pickup when the neck pickup is selected (and vice versa) for that elusive Bridge + Neck Strat sound thatās equal parts snappy and round, also engaging all three pickups at the āin-betweenā positions on the five-way pickup selector. This Moon ST-225B has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mikeās Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.
Neck Specs:
-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender C, full shoulders, measuring .795ā 1st fret, .890ā 12th fret
-Fretboard: Ebony slab, 22-fret, 12ā radius
-Frets: Medium, pristine
-Scale Length: 25 1/2ā
-Nut: 1 11/16ā, bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style Gotoh, black
-Serialization: āCustom Built by PGMā decal on back of peghead, five-digit serial on neck plate matches factory paperwork
Body Specs:

-Hardware: Knife Edge tremolo with block saddles (recessed), knurled knobs, jack cup
-Plastics: One-ply leopard tortoise acetate pickguard
The high gloss lacquer Natural finish and pickguard visually evoke Princeās H.S. Anderson Mad Cat Tele, and the pickguard exhibits a small amount of buckling between the mounting holes. There are just a few faint marks on the body as a whole, and the gloss on the neck profile is flawless.
The original black tolex hardshell case is included, along with the factory documentation. The original warranty card is dated to the 3rd year of the Heisei era, translating to 1992.
