1993 Fender Custom Edition '57 Stratocaster ST57G-65 Charcoal Marine w/ Gold Hardware, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1993 Fender Custom Edition Stratocaster ā€˜57 vintage reissue model ST57G-65 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with hangtags. A rare, early Fender Japan Stratocaster produced at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of "Made in Japan" output, this Strat features a transparent Charcoal Marine (CCM) gloss finish over the prominent grain of the American basswood body, accented by gold hardware throughout.

This Strat has a balanced, lively natural acoustic quality which is translated faithfully through the trio of alnico magnet single coils. The bridge position has a sparkling, authoritative zing, the middle position single coil has a percussive clarity, and the neck position is throaty and warm while still having a peppy snap in the top end. And of course, there’s hollow quack at positions 2 and 4 on the five-way pickup selector switch. Weighing 7lbs 3oz, this Stratocaster has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .845ā€ 1st fret, .975ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Maple, 7 1/4ā€ vintage-spec radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 Ā½ā€
-Nut: 1.650ā€ (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: ā€œMade in Japanā€, O-prefix
-Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel/pocket

Body Specs:

-Wood: American basswood
-Pickups: ST-Vintage single coil x3
-Harness: Untouched solder, full-size Japanese pots date to February, 1993
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Five-way pickup selector
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup
-Plastics: One-ply white pickguard, lightly yellowed knobs/pickup covers

The clear coat on the gloss Charcoal Marine finish has yellowed, yielding a greenish hue, with very subtle ā€œcharcoalā€ streaking highlighting the grain of the American basswood body. There is one finish chip at the treble-side lower bout perimeter and some minor dings on the body as a whole, largely on the back and perimeter. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.

A modern Fender-branded gigbag is included, along with the original serialized hangtag and manual.
