1991 Fender Stratocaster STR-1300 LSR Non-Catalog w/ USA Lace Sensor, Floyd Rose & Case, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1991 Fender Pro Feel Series Stratocaster model STR-1300LSR in near-mint condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This exceedingly rare Strat was the crown jewel of the short-lived, upper-tiered Pro Feel Series, crafted at the Fujigen factory during the golden age of Fender Japan production and sold exclusively in Japan. Originally costing ¥130,000 (hence the 1300 model tier), this was easily one of the most expensive Fender Japan offerings of the era, sporting a bevy of top notch, modern features including a trio of Lace Sensor pickups, a Floyd Rose-licensed double locking Ex-Trem tremolo, contoured neck heel, 12“ (305mm) fretboard radius, and a gloss Trans Red nitro lacquer finish on the heavily figured two-piece flame maple body. This particular example has been outfitted with a red anodized pickguard.

The Lace Sensors have a particularly broad tonal range with Red, Silver, and Blue models coupled to a five-way switch. The Red Lace Sensor pickup in the bridge position is their highest output model, almost humbucker-like with a fat punch and bright, white-hot bite. The Silver Lace Sensor in the middle position yields a fat '70s-style single coil response with increased output and midrange, while the Lace Blue at the neck has a warm, round sound. As with all Lace products, these pickups feature a unique radiant Field Barrier system that surrounds both the coil and magnets, reducing 60-cycle hum. The patented Lace Micro Combs replace traditional bobbins, ensuring a wider tonal range and better string-to-string balance than traditional pickups, and the TBX Tone control and active Mid-Boost knob enable even more tonal sculpting precision. This STR-1300LSR weighs 9lbs 3oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.
