1984 Fender Stratocaster '62 Vintage Reissue JV ST62-70 Sunburst, USA Fullerton Pickups, Japan MIJ Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1984 Fender ā€œJVā€ Stratocaster ā€˜62 vintage reissue model ST62-70 in near-mint, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Crafted in the third year of Fender Japan production, this ā€œJapanese Vintageā€ (JV) series guitar is loaded with the same pickups used on the Fender USA Fullerton factory reissues from the same year.

Extremely accurate to vintage spec and designed to be sold only within Japan, this Strat has a resonant alder body paired with a maple neck and slab rosewood fretboard, yielding a balanced, clear natural acoustic quality that translates well through the pickups. True to vintage spec, the USA-made (Fullerton factory) pickups feature black bobbin flatwork, unbeveled staggered Alnico magnets, and cloth-covered leads. The bridge pickup is sparkling and clear, while the neck pickup has ideal fullness and a chiming bell-like top end. This ST62-70 weighs 7lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .830ā€ 1st fret, .910ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood slab, vintage-spec 7 1/4ā€ radius
-Frets: Slender, no wear
-Scale Length: 25 1/2ā€
-Nut: 1.650ā€ (42mm), bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style, Gotoh
-Serialization: ā€œMade in Japan,ā€ JV-prefix on neck plate
-Factory Markings: Neck heel pencil dated 9-7-84, small blue ā€œ70ā€ sticker on back of peghead denotes original model tier and price (Ā„70,000)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Fender Fullerton USA black bobbin single coil x3
-Controls: Volume, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Harness: Untouched solder, full-size Japanese pots date to October, 1982
-Hardware: Synchronized Tremolo, jack cup
-Plastics: Three-ply white pickguard (ā€œPickup Made in USAā€ advert intact), white knobs, gently aged pickup covers

The gloss three-tone Sunburst finish just has a few minor dings on the lower bout perimeter and some tiny nicks and faint finish scratches in the clear coat. The ambered gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.

A Fender-branded faux leather gigbag is included.
