1994 Fender American Vintage ‘62 Jazz Bass Stack Knob Sunburst, 100% Original w/ Tweed Case

Up for sale, a 1994 Fender American Vintage ‘62 Jazz Bass in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. Crafted at Fender’s Corona, CA factory, this American Vintage series bass is a faithful reissue of the original circa 1960-62 Jazz Bass, boasting a stacked knob control configuration, gloss three-tone Sunburst nitro lacquer finish, and vintage-spec hardware.

Traditional tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and thick slab rosewood fingerboard, and this Jazz Bass weighs 9lbs 12oz. The single coil pickups feature black fiber bobbins, cloth-covered leads, and alnico magnets, yielding quintessential Jazz Bass burp, grind, and low-end heft. Things get particularly round and thumpy with the neck pickup favored and the Tone knobs dialed back to taste, and the pre-1962-style stacked knob control configuration enables a slightly broader degree of tonal sculpting than three-knob Jazz Bass examples. This American Vintage ‘62 Jazz Bass has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 45-100 roundwound strings, easy-playing action, and accurate intonation.

There are some small finish chips and dings in the gloss three-tone Sunburst nitro lacquer finish along the lower bout perimeter, with some finish scratches and lesser marks on the back (also mostly on the lower bout). The top, by comparison, presents cleanly. The gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth with a few shallow marks from the last 30+ years.
