1991 Ibanez Spot Model RG511 Non-Catalog HH Vintage Guitar w/ Mini Humbuckers

1991 Ibanez Spot Model RG511 Non-Catalog HH Vintage Guitar w/ Mini Humbuckers

Up for sale, a 1991 Ibanez RG511 in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. Among the rarest and most unique Ibanez models produced at the Fujigen factory, the RG511 was a non-catalog spot model, with sparingly few known to exist. This two-pickup iteration is even rarer, loaded with a pair of Firebird-style mini humbuckers (instead of the usual single mini humbucker).

Tonewoods include an alder body, maple neck, and dark slab 22 fret rosewood fingerboard, and this RG511 weighs 6lbs 14oz. The pair of mini humbuckers are wound ever-so-slightly hotter than a vintage Gibson-spec wind (both at 7.6k ohms); these pickups are warm and detailed, with sparkling trebles, smooth midrange growl, and an airy-yet-focused bass response, punchy and immediate at the bridge and exceptionally sweet at the neck. This RG511 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 9-42 strings, slinky action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Maple
-Shape: Slender C, measuring .755ā€ 1st fret, .855ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 22-fret, 16ā€ radius, dot inlay
-Frets: Jumbo, faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3
-Scale Length: 25 Ā½ā€
-Nut: 1.650ā€ (42mm)
-Tuners: Gotoh SG38
-Serialization: F91-prefix (Fujigen, 1991)
-Factory Markings: Model stamps on neck heel/pocket

Body Specs:

-Wood: Alder
-Pickups: Mini-humbucker x2 (both 7.6k ohms)
-Controls: Volume, Tone, Three-way pickup selector
-Harness: Japanese pots date to February, 1990
-Hardware: Short Stop integrated bridge, pickup surrounds/covers, dome-top knurled knobs

The gloss White finish has yellowed to a shade of cream, and cosmetic wear is limited to a few small chips along the lower bout perimeter and some minor dings on the body, largely relegated to the lower bout. The satin finish on the neck profile is flawless.

A faux leather gigbag is included.
