1982 Greco Mint Collection EG58-120 '58 Spec Burst Lemon Drop Sunburst, EGF-1200 Super Real, Japan Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1982 Greco Mint Collection EG58-120 in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Heralding from the most collectable (and brief) era of Greco production and the pinnacle of Fujigen design, this EG58-120 is a transitional example, identically spec’d to the instruments branded “Super Real” produced as little as a month prior. Capturing the finer points of a late '50s Les Paul Standard, the EG58-120 was one of the highest grade LP models produced by Greco in '82, with an original sticker price of 120,000 yen. This particular Greco has been outfitted with a pair of Maxon-made U-2000 humbuckers, also produced for a Greco Burst and pre-dating the guitar.

Weighing 10lbs 2oz, tonewoods include a two-piece mahogany body, carved maple top with bookmatched flame maple veneer, a one-piece mahogany neck with long tenon, and a bound rosewood fingerboard. One of the more sought after vintage Japanese PAF iterations, the pair of Maxon U-2000 humbuckers deliver a great spin on the classic PAF tone, with plenty of sweetness, growl and bounce from the bridge pickup and fat, woody warmth in the neck position. This EG58-120 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Mahogany
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .860” 1st fret, .965” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 12” radius, pearloid flared trapezoid inlays
-Frets: Medium, no wear
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 11/16”, bone
-Tuners: Kluson-style “Greco Deluxe” double-line, translucent keystone buttons
-Serialization: 2-prefix (1982 production), inked
-Factory Markings: “1200” sticker denotes original model tier and price („120,000)

Body Specs:

-Wood: Flame maple, mahogany
-Pickups: Maxon U-2000 x2 (replacement, baseplates date to 1976)
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Harness: Full-size Japanese pots date to July, 1982
-Hardware: ABR-1-style bridge, stopbar
-Plastics: One-ply cream pickguard, amber bonnet knobs

The gloss “Lemon Drop Sunburst” nitro lacquer finish is akin to a diffused Cherry Sunburst (or Gibson’s current Honey Lemon Burst), highlighting subtle flame figuring across the top. Cosmetic wear is limited to pick scuffing across the guard, one small finish chip on the lower bout perimeter, one shallow ding on the top lower bout, and a few smaller dings and scratches on the rest of the body. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean.

A padded gigbag is included.
