1981 Greco Super Sound SE600J “Jeff Beck” Vintage S-Style Superstrat, Japan Fujigen

Up for sale, a 1981 Greco Super Sound model SE600J “Jeff Beck” in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. The predecessor of the Fender Japan JV Strats, this upper tiered Super Sound model was produced at the Fujigen factory the year prior to Fujigen Gakki signing their deal with Fender. This particularly rare iteration of the SE600 platform is outfitted with a trio of On/Off/On pickup switches instead of a standard five-way selector switch.

Tonewoods include a sen ash body and a maple neck capped with a rosewood fretboard, yielding a lively, articulate acoustic profile with a certain midrange heft and cut faithfully captured by the stock trio of Maxon PU-S8 black bobbin single coils. These pickups deliver plenty of top end sparkle, with shimmer and snap in the bridge position and bell-like clarity at the neck. The trio of On/Off/Phase pickup switches offer access to all conceivable pickup combinations, with all-three-on and out-of-phase options. This SE600J weighs 8lbs 7oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.
