1975 Gibson Les Paul Custom Vintage Guitar Cherry w/ T Tops, Case

1975 Gibson Les Paul Custom Vintage Guitar Cherry w/ T Tops, Case

Up for sale, a 1975 Gibson Les Paul Custom in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. 100% original save for the knobs, this is a quintessential example of a 1970s Les Paul Custom, featuring a carved three-piece maple top, “sandwich” mahogany body, an early figured three-piece maple neck, bound ebony fingerboard, T Top humbuckers, and an uncommon gloss Cherry nitro lacquer finish, markedly brighter than the usual Wine Red.

The pair of T Top humbuckers are sweet-sounding and detailed, well-suited for round, growling cleans or thick, sizzling drive. Each pickup position is distinct, with more upper midrange detail in the bridge position and plenty of potent, articulate bark at the neck. This Les Paul Custom offers plenty of natural punch and sustain at 10lbs 8oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Flame maple (three-piece)
-Shape: Medium C, measuring .855” 1st fret, 1.030” 12th fret
-Fretboard: Ebony, pearl block inlays, faint finger wear behind frets 1-2
-Frets: Medium jumbo, leveled/crowned, light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-6
-Scale Length: 24 3/4”
-Nut: 1 11/16”
-Tuners: Gibson-branded (Schaller-made)
-Serialization: 00-prefix serial sticker dates to ‘75

Body Specs:

The gloss Cherry nitro lacquer finish highlights light figuring across the top, with a bit of pick scuffing along the strum path, light buckle wear along the bass side of the back, and just a few minor dings, primarily concentrated at the lower bout. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean with minimal wear.

The original black tolex hardshell case with silver Gibson logo silkscreen is included. All of the latches are functional and the handle has been replaced.
