1970s H.S. Anderson LP60 Les Paul Model Vintage Lawsuit Guitar Tobacco Sunburst w/ Seymour Duncan SH-4 & Case

Up for sale, a 1970s H.S. Anderson LP60 ā€œLes Paul Modelā€ in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. The H.S. stands for Hidesato Shiino, christened the ā€œJapanese Leo Fender,ā€ a critical figure in the ā€œlawsuit eraā€ Japanese guitar world who would go on to start ESP and had involvement in brands including Greco and Fernandes. The H.S. Anderson brand is most associated with the Tele-style ā€œMad Cat" model HS-1 played extensively by Prince, with each instrument purportedly handmade by one of only three craftsmen.

A faithful recreation of the Les Paul Standard platform (with brazen ā€œLes Paulā€ text on the headstock), tonewoods comprise a mahogany body, carved maple top, and a mahogany neck capped by a bound rosewood fingerboard. The original neck pickup meters at 8.6k ohms, delivering warm lows, smooth trebles, and a tailored midrange with plenty of presence and growl. The upgraded SH-4 JB bridge pickup is Seymour Duncan's original hot-rodded humbucker; the low end is full and powerful, the highs are crisp and detailed, and there’s an upper-midrange bump that adds crunch and chunk to heavy chords that translates to a singing, vocal-like quality when playing single notes or solos. Weighing 9lbs 2oz, this LP60 has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

Neck Specs:

-Wood: Mahogany
-Shape: Chunky ā€˜50s-style C, measuring .895ā€ 1st fret, 1.010ā€ 12th fret
-Fretboard: Rosewood, 12ā€ radius, flared trapezoid inlays
-Frets: Medium jumbo, faint wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-3
-Scale Length: 24 Ā¾ā€
-Nut: 1.650ā€ (42mm)
-Tuners: Gotoh
-Serialization: Nine-digit stamp on peghead

Body Specs:

-Pickups: PAF-style humbucker (Neck, 8.6k ohms), Seymour Duncan SH-4 JB (Bridge, replacement, 2008 dated stciker on baseplate)
-Controls: Volume x2, Tone x2, Three-way pickup selector
-Harness: Full-size 500k pots, paper-in-oil tone caps
-Hardware: ABR-1-style bridge, stopbar
-Plastics: One-ply cream pickguard, gold reflector cap knobs

The gloss Tobacco Sunburst finish shows only some small dings and finish scratches, with a few finish chips on the lower bout perimeter. The gloss on the neck profile is smooth and clean with just a couple shallow marks.
