
1955 Gibson GA-5 Les Paul Junior Vintage Class A Tube Combo Amp
A true no-frills tone machine, the GA-5 features a two-input, single channel design with a Volume control. The point-to-point circuit has been recapped as needed to ensure optimal functionality, and the Volume pot has been replaced. The original transformers are present, with the output transformer dating to the 24th week of 1955, and the original 5x7â elliptical speaker is also present, with a clean frame, dated to the 4th week of â55. The vintage tube complement comprises a Westinghouse 6V6 power tube, RCA 5Y3 rectifier, and RCA 6SJ7 pentode.
The original tolex and grillcloth show only minimal wear, and the enclosure retains the original handle. The graphics on the faceplate are very clean, including the âLes Paul Juniorâscript text.
