1991 Mosrite Ventures Model USA-Made "Built in Soul" Sunburst w/ Vibramute & Case, Semie Moseley

Up for sale, a 1991 Mosrite USA Ventures Model in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order, complete with the original hardshell case. One of the very last Mosrites handmade by Semie Moseley and his small team in the twilight years of Mosrite's USA manufacturing, this guitar hails from the "Built in Soul" era, produced when Mosrite was transitioning between the Jonas Ridge, NC and Booneville, AR factories. And while Mosrites from this era can be difficult to identify with great accuracy, this one conclusively bears the mark of its maker, with "SM 91" (Semie Moseley, 1991) etched into the bottom of the Vibramute tailpiece.

This Ventures Model has a number of features in-line with traditional ā€˜65 spec, including smooth knobs and embossed pickup covers, a multi-ply white pickguard, "Ventures" logo on the headstock, and a sandcast Vibramute tailpiece. The single coil pickups have ample power and midrange content, wound properly to vintage-spec and metering at 11.4k ohms, providing an authoritative sound that's quintessential Mosrite. This Ventures Model weighs 8lbs 13oz, professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 10-46 strings, low action, and accurate intonation.

The gloss Sunburst nitro lacquer finish highlights the prominent German carve on the body, and cosmetic wear is limited to a handful of pinhead-sized dings along the lower bout perimeter and on the top. The neck profile retains its smooth matching gloss save for palm wear along the fretboard edges and two small nicks central to the carve behind fret 8. There is also light wear through the gloss along the edges of the headstock, particularly on the back.
