1984 Gibson Dove Vintage Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Ebony w/ Case

Up for sale, a 1984 Gibson Dove in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a hardshell case. This Dove was produced in limited quantities to celebrate Gibson’s 90th anniversary, built to vintage spec with a full 1 11/16” nut width and an Ebony nitro lacquer finish. Delivering X-braced square shoulder dreadnought muscle and punch, this Dove features a spruce top, maple back/sides, mahogany neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard. Immediate and lively with tons of projection on tap, the sound is bright yet full, very much emblematic of the tonewood selection and a top that’s had decades to open up and relax. There’s a gutsy vitality and taut snap to the wound strings, with plenty of headroom, and the trebles yield a percussive sparkle. Weighing 4lbs 12oz, this Dove has been professionally setup here at Mike & Mike’s Guitar Bar with 12-53 bronze strings and easy-playing action.

The original gloss Ebony nitro lacquer finish exhibits lacquer checking, a bit of shallow buckle wear central to the back and some minor dings on the top and rims, largely relegated to the lower bout. The nitro gloss on the neck profile is clean and smooth, with a few shallow marks along the spine that are virtually undetectable to the palm while fretting.
