Up for sale, a 1955 Fender Custom Triple 8 T-8 console steel in excellent condition and in perfect working order, complete with a custom tweed hardshell case and the original telescoping legs. A golden age Fender steel, this triple neck console model features a trio of 8-string necks with a 22 Ā½ā scale length, string-through pickups, and an ash body with a gloss nitro lacquer finish simply denoted as āDarkā in the Fender catalog.
Perhaps most notably featured in Santo & Johnny's legendary āSleep Walk,ā the string-through single coils deliver a potent midrange clarity with ample treble cut and sweetness. Thereās plenty of high frequency sparkle and definition with the Tone knob rolled up, accompanied by a hint of harmonically-rich lower midrange growl that is often associated with the string-through design. Additionally, the upgraded five-way pickup selector toggles between each of the three necks, offering combinations not available on the original three-way toggle.
